Recommended Configuration for Novell BorderManager for use with LexisNexis Butterworths Direct


Due to known Novell Issues with Bordermanager and web sites that use Cookie Authentication, the below guidelines should be followed to allow trouble-free access to LexisNexis Butterworths Services.

This Support Pack makes a Critical change to the PROXY.CFG

This is one of the proxy configuration switches which are enabled by
default when this patch is installed:

[Extra Configuration]
DoNotCacheWhenCookieFound=1

BorderManager 3.6

Installation of BorderManager 3.6 Support Pack 1a - Please click here to be redirected to the Download Area for this Patch

This file contains all updates for all services contained in the BorderManager 3.6 product along with added support for NetWare 6 installations. The purpose of the Support Pack is to provide a bundle of fixes that can be tested together and can be installed on NetWare 6. It is not recommended to install individual files from the Support Pack.

*** It is not necessary to install this patch if BorderManager 3.6 is running on a NetWare 4.X or NetWare 5.X server and BM36SP1.EXE has already been installed.

This also enters the following proxy configuration switch by
default when this patch is installed:

Care should be taken to note the following options outlined in the below articles on the Novell Website relating to Cookie Filtering, Session options & Read ahead caching:
